That’s right…I found a box full of treasures at the thrift shop around the corner from me (dangerous I know). Look-at-all-those beautiful patterns and colors, oh my gosh I’m so inspired! So much so actually, that I’m cooking up a little surprise for everyone…but as all good surprises go, you’ll just have to wait a wee bit longer. In the mean time though, I will share one of the projects I have planned for these swatches. The REusing possibilities are endless!

I have been lusting after this pillow FOREVER (really)! And every-time I am in the store I just can’t bring myself to pay almost $100 for a pillow I can make. It’s like a mini battle going on inside my head; which by the way always ends in me placing the pillow back on the display and watching it as I continue to shop. Now, I finally have the vintage fabric I need to complete the project. I’ll post pillow-making pictures as it progresses.
How about you guys? What kind of treasures have you come across?

Oh, I so want to make a quilt with all of those beautiful prints. They are so inspiring to me as well!
That’s awesome! Love those vintage prints. I recently snagged a mid-century modern footstool from my condo’s dumpster area - unsure of whether or not it was worth it. After ripping off the grungy and grimy upholstery I discovered a tag from its purchase in 1953…as well as the fact that the wood construction was sturdy and still in solid shape. If I can ever find a great swatch of vintage upholstery fabric on the cheap It’ll be worth it!
I’ve passed on a Blog Award for you as a thanks for all your inspiration! It’s on my blog.
What an amazing dumpster find! Some of my favorite pieces I’ve stumbled upon are from the curb on trash night…it always surprises me what people throw out. If your looking for vintage upholstery fabric, try looking in thrift stores. Perhaps even a vintage sofa cushion could be reused to cover your footstool.
Wow! Where can I find those yummy vintage prints! They put a smile on my face!
