It’s about time I feature a REdecorate mood board with a dramatic before and after.
Here’s Caryn’s letter.
Dear Adriana,
Our living room needs a make-over! It is sophisticated, but very
masculine. I would like to keep the sophistication, but soften it up in a
way that allows the sun from all the windows to illuminate the space, and
for it to say “classy comfort.” It needs to be more inviting. We also
need something more kid-friendly (i.e. replacing the glass coffee table).
I would like to keep the loveseat or the leather chair and integrate these
with softer, eco-friendly furniture that is medium in color. I don’t want
white. We would like to keep the curtains, blinds and entertainment
center. The walls need some love, but I am not sure what to put on them –
any ideas? On the other half of the room, in front of the fireplace and
in the foyer area, it is wide-open, and we’d like some ideas for what to
put there, and how to arrange that space. When it comes to color, I am
open to integrating more colors into the room, but want to keep the wall
color and theme of blues/browns that we have already. We would like a
modern, but classic feel to correspond with our 1920s Colonial home.
